Merry Christmas, to all our homeowners, homebuyers, and anyone who’s thinking of moving into one of our 55+ Communities.
Over the last 12 months, we’ve sold a lot of homes throughout Utah. In part, this is because you’ve recognized value when you’ve seen it.
We don’t just build another house, or even a normal senior community, we build homes that fit you perfectly, and that enhance your desired lifestyle as you enter retirement.
Thank you!
And as always, we’ll do our best to make 2019 a stellar year as we continue to hone our craft and search for ways of improving value.
Holiday Schedule
Sales offices:
As with most years, the holiday season is a great time to visit with family and friends. Homebuilding tends to slow down during this time. Along with that slowdown, most home sales slump slightly, since our customers are also enjoying the festivities.
This usually means that our sales staff is very excited when they do see you come through their doors. Even if you’re not ready to buy a home, they will love the chance to stand up and show you around.
But since they also have families, and since the season is slower for them at work, office hours tend to get a little relaxed.
Here is what you might expect if you want to visit one of our communities:
Christmas:
Wednesday, December 19th– Open till about 2:00 or 3:00pm
Thursday, December 20th– Select locations might be closing around Noon. Call ahead if you plan to visit.
Saturday, December 22nd– Open
Monday, December 24th- Closed
Tuesday, December 25th– Closed
Wednesday, December 26th– Mostly Likely Open, but call before coming, just in case.
Thursday, December 27th– Open
Friday, December 28th– Open
Saturday, December 29th– Open
New Years:
Monday, December 31st– Most Likely Open, but call before coming, just in case.

Wednesday, January 2nd– Open
Buying a home around the holidays:
This is, without a doubt, the best time to buy a home. Because we are slower, we rarely raise prices on our homes during the holidays. Come Spring, that all changes.
Every year, once the New Year has clicked over, our sales gradually rise. With this rise in activity, we’ll often re-evaluate the market and let our prices rise accordingly. This means that if you are considering a move anytime during 2019, you’re better off locking in today’s prices and saving.
Yes, we’ve also heard that a small recession is threatening to visit us this next year, but Utah’s housing market will likely be very insulated from this possibility, since our housing crisis has placed a shortage of about 50,000 homes across Salt Lake and Utah Counties. There’s a good chance I’ll address this in more detail over the coming weeks.
Not only do we believe that the housing market in Utah will remain strong, but buying now doesn’t mean that you’ll have to move now. Because Utah is so busy building home, our labor shortages keep going up, which means that it takes us longer to build a home than it used to.
What does this mean for you?
It means that we might need to get any upgrades chosen earlier in the process than we usually do. So buying now, even if you don’t plan on moving till Spring or Summer, and in some cases, Fall, you will have the opportunity to customize your interiors to match your personal tastes.
Even if you’re not sure, make one of Leisure Villa’s 55+ neighborhoods a place to visit this year. It may be the best holiday gift you’ve ever given yourself.
