Are you 55+ and still driving around in the old family wagon or three quarter ton pickup truck?
Why?
Well, that’s not really any of our business. But you may be wondering, can I fit my big’ole boat into that new garage?
Most seniors and empty nesters, when they start looking for a home in an active adult community like ours, they’ve given up the uber-large vehicles and downsized to something more comfortable and easy to maneuver.
But just for old time’s sake, you may be wondering if we’re going to try crowding your car into an over-shrunken garage. Let’s answer that.
Garage sizes for senior communities in Utah
How big are the garages at Utah’s premier 55+ communities?
Let’s just keep this simple. Most all of the garages here at Leisure Villas are two-car garages.
Exterior Dimensions:
The garage doors come standard at sixteen feet wide and seven feet tall.
This is usually enough to accommodate ninety-nine percent of the personal vehicles on the road. (But only two at a time.)
Usually where you run into problems is if you still have that big, beefy work truck and you’ve had it jacked up a foot and added monster tires, so that if it gets caught in traffic, it can just drive over the tops of the other sedans on the road.
Most of us, even if we’re still driving the company truck, will have no problem fitting into the garages.
Interior Dimensions:
The inside width of our garages are just shy of twenty feet. They’d be a full twenty feet, if not for a four-inch divider between you and your neighbor’s garage.
There is plenty of depth too. With the shortest garage starting at twenty-three-feet deep, you should have no trouble fitting your car in, plus some shelving for all those pesky odd tools that seem to grow inside most people’s garages.
Some of our garages even extend back to nearly thirty-one feet! You can fit a lot inside of a thirty-one-foot-deep garage.
Another nice thing about Leisure Villas’ garages:
When you look a house, usually the most prominent feature on that house is the garage. But a garage door is nothing special. Often, it’s the most boring part of an exterior. Still most people tend to cover about forty percent of their frontage with garage.
One of the first things you’ll notice when you drive into one of our communities, is the distinct absence of front facing garage doors. There may be a few here and there, but for the most part, the garages are all hidden on the sides.
Side loading garages? Yikes!
Well, not really.
We design ours so that they are very easy to get in and out of. There is plenty of room to turn and back around. The placement and design of our garages, make for very convenient and attractive spaces.
Come drive in.
See for yourself how easy it is to drive and park your cars in our garages. You’ll be delighted with the size and design of our garages. Even more so, you’ll be thrilled with the design of our homes. They were designed with you in mind.
See you soon!
