Getting to know new people can be fun and rewarding. For others, it’s akin to public speaking.
Nobody wants to impose on others, but introvert or extrovert, most of us want to have friends.
One of the best things about living in a 55+ community, is that everyone is in or near the same stage of life. Kids are all moved out, many people are at or near retirement, and there’s time to do more things for yourself. This is the ideal place to meet and make new lasting friendships.
We build senior communities because we love enhancing lifestyles.
One of the best ways to promote an active social environment is by hosting a monthly potluck dinner.
One great way we like to connect
This Thursday: Potluck at The Villas At Pioneer Crossing
Every month, we host a potluck dinner in all of our communities. This Thursday, for example, November 9th, The Villas At Pioneer Crossing will be getting together at the clubhouse in that Lehi community.
These potluck dinners are great for a number of reasons, not only just for socializing. Our sales staff will usually attend, but also our property managers will often visit. It’s a great time to answer questions you might have, or to share news or relevant information regarding your community.
Another benefit to these potluck dinners, is that while the members of the community get to strengthen their friendships, those who haven’t yet moved in are welcome to come and meet their soon to be neighbors.
We highly encourage all of our potential buyers, or those buyers who haven’t yet closed on their home, to come and meet everyone in that particular retirement community.
Last Week: Midas Creek Villas
Potlucks aren’t the only parties we like to do. They’re one of our favorites, but in a brand new community like the one we’re building in Herriman, we’ve only finished a couple of homes to date, and we couldn’t very easily support a large potluck dinner.
So instead, we’ve put together a smaller party for the first couple residents living there, as well as for all of our customers who have yet to move in. This party took place over the weekend. It was a breakfast gathering, and all 20-30 people who attended got to enjoy food and were able to meet their upcoming neighbors.
After that breakfast, the whole Miller Crossing community, not just our 55+ community, hosted a large open house event for the afternoon, where we got food trucks and sponsored give-a-ways and door prizes.
If you missed, it, you’re still welcome to come by. Our model homes are now open for viewing Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 5pm.
How often do we get together like this?
While we try to have a good party at least once per month, we highly encourage active use of our clubhouses. We build them for our community members. We might sponsor a monthly potluck, but often, the homeowners will get together and start hosting a lot of other activities throughout the month.
We’ve seen many communities that have something happening, almost daily in the clubhouse. These can be anything from aerobics, service projects, watching ball games, lady’s lunch get-togethers, to book clubs, etc.
In short, our communities are fun. Even if you’re a little shy about meeting new people, we usually have plenty of opportunities to welcome you in a low-pressure environment. If you’d like to live in a social community, or even if you want to meet your potential neighbors before moving in, by all means, stop by one of our activities.
You can always ask a sales representative when the next dinner will be held. They’ll be happy to help you meet your next new community.
