There’re a few times each year that we really ought to remember our significant other. Among those times, are Valentine’s Day.
Just because you and yours are likely to be grandparents now, it doesn’t mean that all the fun needs to grow old. In fact, seniors and near seniors probably have more freedom now than you ever did when all the kids still lived at home.
But even still, finding a worthwhile date idea that is new and exciting can be stressful.
So today, I felt like sharing a few ideas around Utah and Salt Lake County, that might make 2020’s Valentine’s Day all the more memorable.

Second idea
The Illusionists are a Broadway spectacular. They will be coming to the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake. If you’re looking for something purely magical for your Valentines date, well, it don’t get much more magical than this.

When is the last time you got all dressed up fancy for a date and went to the ball?
How about a masquerade ball?
If you’re feeling adventurous, then throw on your finest formals, and get your masks ready to go, because at the Provo City Academy Square Library, they are hosting a dance with dinner and live Jazz entertainment.
This is one unique opportunity, a throwback to a long-gone age, that you almost can’t afford not to attend.

If you live in one of our 55+ communities for active adults, and you’re not feeling cupid’s arrow exciting you about any of the above listed date ideas, then try putting together a Valentines party of your own at your community clubhouse.
Chances are good that you’ll find some fun couples who’d love to group together and make this year’s celebration one to remember.
After all, that’s one of the great benefits of living in a 55 and older community—you get to be around lots of folks your own age and have a huge family of friends to spend time with. If you put your heads together, you’re sure to find plenty to do.
Who knows, maybe you’ll even get talking, and get a small group to go out and enjoy a night out on the town. And if I happen to see you at the masquerade ball, I’ll be the one wearing a mask.
