Winter for some can be a drag, but not for the residents of our 55+ community in Herriman, Utah.
They’ve discovered what an Active Adult Community is all about. It’s about expanding your opportunities to live the lifestyle you’ve always wanted.
Even in the Winter, when others are hunkering down, residents of Midas Creek Villas are meeting and playing nearly every single day of the month. It’s funny too, because about a year ago, few if any of these people knew each other.
So what is their secret to beating the Winter blues?
Well, you kind of have to see it to believe it.
Active Adults Kick The Winter Blues
What are they up to?
Over the last couple of months, I’ve visited the newly finished clubhouse at Midas Creek Villas, an active adult community for folks 55 and older. These people have really banded together and are having a lot of fun with their neighbors, the way neighbors should do.
Inside their clubhouse, I saw a bulletin board that was chuck full of fun activities that they had going on. Some of their activities included:
- Monthly dinner socials
- Weekly restaurant trips
- Monthly ladies’ night for the single women
- Monthly book club get-togethers
- Weekly card parties
- Monthly craft nights
- Weekly fun-for-all parties
- Weekly sports games on the theater
- Bi-weekly music groups
- Weekly yoga
- And a bunch of private functions as well.
An that’s just for the Winter, when the pool isn’t even open and the paved walking trail along Midas Creek isn’t likely to get much use.
If you can’t find something fun to do there, then it’s because you somehow locked yourself inside your house.
How can they do this?
They can do this, because they made the choice of moving into a community of like-minded adults. After the kids are grown and moved out, many people suddenly find that they have a little more time to do some of the things they’ve always wanted. Part of that includes being more actively involved with friends and neighbors.
At Midas Creek Villas, and all our communities for that matter, we only sell to retirees or those who are near it. While other communities may say that they are “Senior Communities” they don’t actually restrict younger buyers from moving in.
So while their marketing may attract the sort of people that we sell to, in five or ten years, their 55+ communities will start looking like any other ordinary neighborhood.
That’s not all bad, but it’s not what we do. Our communities are HUD Approved to age restrict, so that a minimum of 80% of all homebuyers have to be 55 years or older.
This keeps the culture of our unique neighborhoods alive for the life of the community.
How can you do this?
Simply come visit us. Walk through our models and our clubhouse. See what’s happening. If this looks like fun, well, that’s because it is.
When you move into Midas Creek Villas, and any of our other new communities, you have instant friends. They’re excited to meet you and involve you in the fun.
Our friendly sales staff is happy to answer any questions you may have. They’re on site most days from 10am-5pm, closed Sundays.
Stop on by today. See what Midas Creek Villas can offer you, that your current neighborhood can’t.
Also, since December and January are often slower months for us, we may be able to get you into a home cheaper than when the buying frenzy picks up after the holidays.
