It’s finally here. The 2018 Utah County Parade Of Homes. We’ve been working hard this year getting our newest 55+ community ready for the parade.
It’s been a few years since we’ve entered the home show, but often people scratch their heads when they hear tell of Vineyard City. Until recently, many people didn’t even know that Utah County had such a city.
Well, there is such a city, right next to Orem in fact. It’s been such a small city until recently, but is now quickly growing into a large destination place. With all of the recent development and future development, Vineyard is quickly transforming the valley’s dynamics.
We’re proud to add one of our age restricted communities for active adults to this area. It seems that the homes around there are selling out faster than the builders can build them.
In fact, we are the only builder who’re showcasing a parade home in Vineyard this year, a testament to the fast selling nature of this area.
What to expect out of our home this year?
The joys of the home show
One of the true pleasures of attending the Parade of Homes is getting to walk through different styles of construction and seeing the new and creative ways in which homes are evolving. For me, I love to visit homes where the builder or owner has taken a different approach than we traditionally see.
Several years ago, when I was building my own home, I remember traveling all over the state looking for inspiration. From the humble Anglo-Saxon inspired farm house on the south-east side of Antelope island, to the mansions along the east benches of Weber and Davis counties, to the Parade Homes of Utah County, my wife and I looked for unique ideas everywhere we could.
Even with a limited budget, we were able to design a one-of-a-kind home that fit our tastes perfectly. This year, I plan to attend the Parade again, in search of new ideas to help inspire and continue the process of constant improvement to the homes we build here at Leisure Villas.
More than sticks and bricks
This year, when you make the trek out to Vineyard to see our show home, you’ll notice a few things:
First
You’ll get a glimpse at our most popular floorplan. It’s been honed over the last few years and is uniquely suited for the retired or soon to be retired couple.
Second
While this is the first home that we’ll have completed in this new community, you should be able to get a taste for the superior landscaping that we pride ourselves on. No builder in the State does a better job at beautifying their communities. Even twenty years later, our communities still look fresh and lovely, thanks to the care and attention we put into our exteriors.
Third
And perhaps most difficult to notice at this stage of construction, but worth noting, is the community feel that we encourage from the very beginning. We focus entirely on building communities that are age restricted for people 55 and better.
We do this for a few reasons. As Utah’s leader in senior communities, we recognize that empty nesters and retirees have different priorities and needs than younger households. Very few homes are actually accommodating to those needs. We also recognize that as you age, you realize the value of making quality relationships with your neighbors. Thus we love the idea of designing not simply a lovely home that meets your physical needs, but we design a community that fits your social needs as well.
So this year, when you stop by and look for the differences that make us stand out from the others, imagine what it would be like for you, if you’re over 55, or for your parents/grandparents, to live in a place where the average person is at or near retirement, and you can walk to your mailbox, or to your community clubhouse and meet several of your best friends along the way.
We’re excited for this year’s Parade of Homes, and we look forward to seeing you there.
